    The UI Track & Field Stadium

    When the home outdoor season begins, the Fighting Illini move to one of the finest outdoor track stadiums in the region. The UI Track & Field Stadium, located just east of the Assembly Hall, is accessed off St. Mary's Road. The Stadium was completed in 1987 at a cost of $2.2 million. The first meet at the stadium was the April 18, 1987 Illinois Invitational. Future plans for the stadium include a press box and seating for up to 12,000 spectators. Illinois hosted the 1997 Big Ten Outdoor Championships last year.

    Indoor events are held at the Armory Track
