Education:
Halpin completed his undergraduate degree in athletic training at Illinois State University, and his graduate degree at the University of Iowa, where he was the athletic trainer for the Hawkeye baseball program. 

Job Responsibilities:
Halpin serves as the athletic trainer for the Illinois baseball team. He is also responsible for all Gatorade orders and EMS coverage.

Past Experience:
Prior to coming to the University of Illinois, Halpin completed an internship at RehabWorks, a clinic located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, in 2005. He then went on to work with the Cincinnati Reds in Sarasota, Florida.

Following his time with the Reds, Halpin became the head athletic trainer for the Rockford Lightning of the CBA for the 2005-2006 season, before being hired as the head athletic trainer for the Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier League from 2007-2009. 

Halpin also worked with athletes at Orthopedic Rehab Specialists (ORS), a physical therapy clinic in Rockford, Illinois.  Through ORS, he was the head athletic trainer at Winnebago High School in Winnebago, Illinois.

Personal:
The Prophetstown, Illinois, native currently resides in Mahomet with his wife Jessica, and their children Caroline, Audrey, and Jane.
