Vetter Named Director of Track and Field Operations
June 6, 2014
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Eric Vetter has been named Director of Track and Field operations, announced by the Illinois track and field programs on Friday.
Vetter has worked with the University of Illinois track and field programs since May of 2007 when he was hired as the Coordinator of the Armory Track & Floor. Since that time, Vetter has also served as the meet director for cross country and track and field meets hosted by Illinois. As the Director of Track and Field Operations, his duties will expand to assisting with the teams' travel arrangements and itinerary, working with summer camps and acting as the liaison between the teams and support staff. Vetter's new role will allow him to have more involvement with the track programs themselves, while still handling meet management and facilities.
Prior to Illinois, Vetter served as graduate assistant coach at Eastern Illinois University from 2005-07 and received his master's degree in Sports Management. He was a physical education teacher and cross country/track & field coach with the Bangor School District in Bangor, Wis from 2002-05. Vetter received his bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 2001.
