CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The Illinois women's track and field team will conclude the regular season at the Billy Hayes Invitational on Saturday, May 3. Field events begin at 10:00 a.m. CT, while running events are set for an 11:00 a.m. start. Illinois will face various teams from around the midwest, including host Indiana, No. 6 Kentucky, Notre Dame, Kentucky State, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and Indiana State.

Jesica Ejesieme, Kawanna Brooks and Samone Thompson kick off running events with the 100m hurdles prelims. Last weekend at the Drake Relays, Ejesieme placed fourth in the event while Kawanna Brooks clocked a personal-best in the prelims. Shortly after, Kymbriona Taylor and Claire Kieger will compete in the 100m dash prelims, followed by Rachel Irion in the 3,000m. Asia Thomas will represent the Illini in the 400m, while Ahlivia Spencer, Lindsey Rakosnik and Michelle Frigo will run the 800m. Ejesieme is coming off of a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles and will compete in the event on Saturday, while Thomas, Taylor and Kieger are set to compete in the 200m shortly after. Britten Peterey will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase, followed by Alyssa Schneider and Stephanie Morgan in the invitational section of the 1,500m. Illinois will also compete in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

Kawanna Brooks will compete in the first field event for the Illini, the long jump. Shortly after, Tess Johnson and Lela Dimonte in will compete in the javelin, followed by the javelin Jennifer DeBellis and Nicole Demarais in the pole vault and Big Ten indoor champion Kandie Bloch-Jones in the high jump. Jazjuan Wallace-Sipp is coming off of a career performance at the Drake Relays, where she threw the third best mark in school history and the best in the Big Ten, and will join Mariah Smith in the event on Saturday. Kristen Wilson will represent the Illini in the shot put in the final event of the day. Samone Thompson competed in her first-ever heptathlon at the Drake Relays, and will compete in multiple field events this weekend. She will compete in the long jump, high jump, shot put and javelin.
