2010 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
Friday, March 12 - Saturday, March 13
Arkansas // Fayetteville, Ark. // Randal Tyson Track Center
The Fighting Illini women's track and field team will be represented by three athletes at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., from March 12-13 at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center. Illinois will look to bring home All-America honors in three events, as Angela Bizzarri (3,000m), Aja Evans (shot put) and Tamika Robinson (60m hurdles) all head into the championships ranked in the nation's top 15. Bizzarri and Evans have plenty of championship experience as returning indoor All-Americans from last season, while Robinson heads to NCAAs for the first time in her career. Bizzarri has established herself as one of the top distance runners in the country, as a two-time national champion and an eight-time All-American between cross country and track and field. Evans has also made a name for herself in the shot put by picking up All-America honors at the previous two indoor championships and winning the 2010 Big Ten indoor title. Robinson will be the only Illini competitor on Friday, as she will run in the preliminaries of the 60m hurdles at 5:40 p.m. If she advances, the finals of the 60m hurdles are scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Evans is slated to begin the shot put at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday while Bizzarri will run the 3,000m at 7:45 p.m. later that night.
ESPN360.com will stream the championships live beginning at 8 p.m. CST on Friday, March 12 and 6:10 p.m. CST on Saturday, March 13. NCAA.com and ArkansasRazorbacks.com will stream supplemental coverage as available when ESPN360.com is not live. Live results can be found at ArkansasRazorbacks.com. ESPN2 will air a 90-minute show at 12:30 p.m. CST, Wednesday, March 17.
