Illini conclude action at NCAA West Prelims

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Fighting Illini women's track and field team concluded the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Round of Championships with no new Illini qualifying for the NCAA Championships in Oregon. Jesica Ejesieme qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 400m hurdles yesterday and will be the sole athlete representing the Illini in Eugene.
After finishing runner-up in her heat with a time of 13.64 in the first round of the 100m hurdles yesterday, Ejesieme finished with 13.46 today, just one spot away from making the cut for the Championships. Ejesieme still heads to Eugene after finishing second in her heat in the 400m hurdles yesterday, clocking a personal-best time of 57.21 to finish fourth overall in the event. Freshman Kandie Bloch-Jones wrapped up her first season as an Illini after jumping 5-7 3/4 (1.72m) to place 19th in the high jump.
