Walnut, Calif. -- Senior's Marissa Golliday and Kristin Morrison concluded competition at the Mt. SAC Relays, both notching totals in the top-10 of Illinois' record books in the heptathlon.

"It was great competition with over 100 multi-athletes," assistant coach Mike Erb said. "Marissa had an outstanding first day but struggled a bit in the long jump and javelin on day two. We know what we need to work on in the next few weeks. Kristin really did a great job and showed that with consistent events, you can put together a great score. She set a new personal best by 240 points and cracked the school's top-10."

Golliday finished the two day event with a combined 5,268 points which is tied for the third best in Illinois history. The senior won her section of the 200m (24.26) and the 800m (2:13.44), while setting personal bests in the the 100m hurdles (14.31) and tying a career best in the high jump (1.76m).

Morrison also set a lifetime best in the heptathlon, finishing with a score of 4,993 which places her into the school's top-10 list at ninth best. The Bolingbrook, Ill., native won the javelin (37.73m) and took the long jump title after setting a huge personal best in the event (5.69m). Morrison also tied her lifetime best in the 200m (25.72).
