Tyson Invitational Final Results
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Illinois women's track and field team closed out competition at the Tyson Invitational on Saturday. Today's highlights included the 4x400m relay squad of sophomore Marissa Golliday, senior Ashley Kelly, sophomore Jesica Ejesieme and freshman Ashley Spencerwho timed a season-best 3:36.20, a time which ties the third-fastest in school history. The team placed runner-up with Spencer running the fastest split for the Orange and Blue with a time of 52.39.
Sophomore Katie Poradaset a career-best mile time of 4:46.33 to take third place while in the 200m, Spencer notched a personal-best time of 23.80 and Kelly ran a season-best time of 24.32 to finish seventh and 24th out of 70 competitors, respectively.
Sophomore Breeana Coleman placed eighth in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.47. In the college section of the 800m, freshman Chloe Schmidt set a new personal-best with a time of 2:12.87 to finish runner-up while junior Madeline Aufmann finished eighth and nearly set a new career-best in the 800m (2:14.39). Sophomore Amanda Duvendackran a career-best 800m time (2:11.15) and in the Olympic development section of the race.
A full list of Illini results from Saturday can be found below. Illinois will be off next weekend before heading to Lincoln, Neb., for the Big Ten Championships on Feb. 24-25.
