Illinois placed second at the Orange and Blue Preview with Meghan Frigo finishing first with a time of 21:27.
2011 XC - Sophomore: Finished sixth for the Illini at 30th overall with a 4K time of 16:58 at the Illini Challenge ... Placed ninth for the Illini and 15th overall at the Bradley Open with a 3 Mile time of 18:17 ... Ran a 6K time of 23:25 while placing ninth for the Illini and 26th overall at the Orange and Blue Preview ... Placed tenth for the Orange and Blue and 108th overall with a 5K time of 19:22 at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational ... Ran unattached for the Illini but finished 93rd overall with a 6K time of 23:19 at the Bradley Classic ... Finished fourth for the Illini and 20th overall with a 6K time of 20:04 at the Illini Open.
2010 XC - Freshman: Made Illini debut at the Illini Challenge, placing seventh for the Illini ... Finished 10th for the team and 32nd overall at the Illini Open.
2012 Track and Field
Outdoor: Ran the 1,500m at the Purdue Open Invitational, finishing 11th with a time of 5:00.82
Indoor: Competed in the 800m twice and in the 1,500m ... Set a season-best 800m time of 2:25.95 at the Illini Orange and Blue Open, finishing third overall ... Recorded a season-best 1,500m mark of 5:00.82 at the Purdue Invitational, placing 11th.
2011 Track and Field
Outdoor: Ran in the 1,500m for three meets...Recorded her personal-best at the Stan Lyons Invitational with 4:49.12.
Indoor: Recorded her personal-best time in the 800m with a 2:24.41 at EIU Friday Night Special, placing sixth.
Earned four Central Suburban League South All-Conference honors on the track and two for cross country ... Placed 29th at the 2010 Illinois state cross country meet ... Received six varsity letters between cross country and track and field ... Was chosen to run in the Mideast Championships as one of the top 12 seniors in the state ... Was a member of student government and class president all four years ... Academic honors included the Red Honor Roll, Presidential Scholar Award, Super Star Board of Education Award and Principal's Medallion Award.
Daughter of Masayuki and Rikiko Hoshi ... Born Dec. 23, 1991 ... Has one brother, Masafumi ... Hobbies include cooking, volunteering, and hanging out with friends and family ... Her biggest thrill in sports is the adrenaline rush before a race and the feeling you get after a great race or workout ... Her parents most influenced her athletic career because they always encouraged her to try different sports and activities and supported her ... Majoring in special education and plans to go to law school.
