Angela Bizzarri won the 2009 NCAA Cross Country Championships individual title on November 23, 2009 in Terre Haute, Ind.
November 1, 2009 at University Park, Pa. The Orange and Blue come in second, with four Illini earning All-Big Ten honors.
The Illinois women's cross country took fifth out of 37 teams at the invitational on October 17 in Terre Haute, Ind.
The women's cross country team placed third at the meet on October 3 in Madison, Wis.
Undergraduate Assistant Coach for 2010 Cross Country Season
Angela Bizzarri, the most decorated distance runner in Illinois history, will assist the women's cross country team during the 2010 fall season while she finishes her undergraduate degree in molecular and cellular biology. The Mason, Ohio, native wrapped up her collegiate eligibility in 2010 as a three-time national champion, a nine-time All-American, a five-time Big Ten champion, a six-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, a two-time Academic All-American and a school record-holder in seven events.
Bizzarri was named the 2009 USTFCCCA National Cross Country Athlete of the Year along with earning the Honda Sports Award for cross country. She also was honored as the Dike Eddleman Female Athlete of the Year for three consecutive years, tying the school record, and was named Illinois' Newcomer of the Year as a freshman.
Following her collegiate running career, Bizzarri signed a partnership with Brooks Sports, Inc., to begin her pursuit of a professional running career.

Indoor: Won her third national title and ninth career All-America accolade with a victory in the 3,000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center ... Shattered her own school record in the event by 13 seconds with a time of 8:57.40 and edged top-seeded Lisa Koll (8:57.52) of Iowa State by just over a tenth of a second ... Matched Perdita Felicien's school record of three national titles ... Took home a pair of Big Ten titles at the conference meet, winning the 3,000m with a time of 9:10.16 and the 5,000m with a school-record and personal-best time of 16:06.88 ...
