PEORIA, Ill. - The women's cross country team finished eighth at the Bradley Classic this Friday. As the squad split and raced in two different meets this weekend, the top ten runners are set to race at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind. tomorrow. Junior Ashley Thompson placed first for Illinois and 29th overall at the Classic with a 6K time of 22:41.
Finishing just behind Thompson was sophomore Maggie Mulchrone (34) senior Maggie Carroll (41), and freshman Amber Stack (42). The Illini came together to compile a team score of 204 to place eighth.
Iowa State won the meet with a team total of 51. Winning the individual title was Caedryn Shrunk from Northern Iowa with a 6K time of 21:24.
The other half of the women's team will race tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 18 at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute, Ind. The race begins at 10:35 a.m.
