Polock's promising career was cut short due to injury, but the senior has decided to help the team through coaching. She will assist Karen Harvey and Kevin Sullivan with the cross country team and with the Illinois track distance and middle distance crews. As a prep, Polock won three consecutive (2001-2003) Illinois state titles in the 800m and was also a member of the state champion 4x800m relay team at Wheaton North. The Wheaton, Ill. native was also a two-time All-State selection in cross country in 2001 and 2002. In 2002 Polock won the individual state cross country championship while pacing her squad to the team title
