Jackie Kropp joins the Fighting Illini women's cross country program in her first season as a volunteer assistant coach. Kropp spent last year as a volunteer assistant coach at Louisville with the men's and women's cross country and track and field teams, helping the Cardinals win Big East conference titles in men's cross country and women's outdoor track and field.
Kropp was a student-athlete in both cross country and track and field at the University of Chicago, where she earned All-Conference and All-Academic honors throughout her four-year career. She was an All-American as a member of the University of Chicago distance medley relay, also helping the Maroons to a 19th-place finish at the 2007 NCAA Division III Cross Couuntry Championships.
A native of Stevens Point, Wis., Kropp graduated from the University of Chicago in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences. She is certified as a USA Track and Field Level 1 coach and is working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Kropp also works in Champaign as a personal trainer at the Mettler Center.
