Champaign, Ill. - Illinois volleyball will host their annual Breast Cancer Awareness match next Friday, October 5, as they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes at 7pm.  This past weekend the Illinois volleyball booster club, the Illini Networkers, auctioned off 16 special edition pink jerseys to fans at the Minnesota and Wisconsin matches.  The auction brought in $3,470, which after expenses will go to benefit the Champaign-Urbana Young Survival Coalition.  These jerseys will be worn by the team on the 5th and bear the name of the winners choosing, many selecting a name of a friend or loved one that has been affected by cancer. Fans are also encouraged to wear pink to the match to help support the cause.

For those fans who were unable to participate in the auction this past weekend, three additional jerseys are being auctioned online via eBay from now until Sunday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. Available jerseys include a pink #3 jersey, and blue #2 and #13 jerseys. While these jerseys will not likely be worn in the match, the winners will still have the opportunity to place a name of their choice on the back. Fans who are interested can click here to bid on the jersey of their choice.
