The Illini will travel to Italy from May 24-June 2.

Champaign, Ill. - On Friday, May 24, the University of Illinois volleyball team embarks on the trip of a lifetime; a 10-day trip to Italy. The Fighting Illini squad will visit several cities in northern Italy including Venice, Bologna, Bergamo and Milan. In addition to seeing the sights, Illinois will play five matches against various Italian teams.
The trip kicks off with two days in Venice, where the Illini will have the chance to explore the beautiful Venetian canals and will play their first match on the evening of May 26. From there, Illinois takes the train down to Bologna, where it will play its second international match and enjoy the sights while participating in team-building exercises.
On Wednesday, May 29, the Illini will visit the smaller town of Bergamo, where they will face off in an evening match with Bergamo B1. On Thursday, UI will take off for an afternoon at the gorgeous Lake Como, before arriving in Milan at night. The Orange and Blue will enjoy the Haute Couture of the fashionable city and play a pair of matches against Italy at Centro Pavesi. Illinois returns to Champaign-Urbana on June 2.
