Champaign, Ill. – The Fighting Illini volleyball team is back in action this weekend, hosting Loyola Chicago, Northern Illinois and Indiana State in a set of exhibition matches on Saturday, April 6, at Huff Hall. The event, which begins at 10:30 a.m., is open to the public and free for all fans.

Saturday’s matches will give Illini fans the first taste of the 2013 volleyball squad, as the Fighting Illini learn to adjust to new roles following the graduation of this fall’s senior class. Illinois will play each of the three opponents in an informal, three-set match, designed to help both teams work out the kinks before the fall season.

There will be two matches going on simultaneously throughout the day, with the pairs of matches beginning at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. Illinois will face Loyola, Northern Illinois and Indiana State, in that order, while the other two teams will face each other in a neutral match along side the Illini court.

This will be the only chance for fans to catch the Illini at home before the annual alumni match in August, so you won’t want to miss it!
