Networkers to Host Volleyball Banquet

Champaign, Ill. - The Networkers, the booster club for the Fighting Illini volleyball team, will host the 29th Annual Networkers' Volleyball Awards Banquet on Friday, Jan. 27 at the Round Barn Banquet Center, 1990 Round Barn Road in Champaign.

Fans are invited to help the team celebrate its historic season that included the school's first Final Four appearance in 23 years and its first ever trip to the national championship match. During the evening, the players and coaches will speak and the four graduating seniors, Michelle Bartsch, Hannah Deterding, Rachel Feldman and Colleen Ward, will be honored. The 2011 letterwinners will be announced as well as the winner of the Jim Bayne Academic Excellence Award; the Sandy Scholtens Hamilton Award for Athletic Achievement, Effort and Attitude; the Jimmy and Jeanne Seyler Top Gun Award for Best Attack Percentage; and the Tough as Nails Award.

The social hour will be from 6-7 p.m. where the 2011 Illini Volleyball Scrapbook photo presentation produced by Networker Craig Pessman will be showing. The program begins at 7 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m.
