First, I would like to say that writing the blog was not of my own choosing...There is a lot of pressure resting on my shoulders to meet the creativity and humor of my fellow teammate Annie Mac or as you all may know her by "Advantage Annie"... I am taking on the role of summer blogging as part of my internship at the Illinois Sports Information Office at school... I'll do my best to not disappoint you too badly with my attempts to make you laugh.

To wrap up the season we had an exciting finish as many of you may know... Hosting the NCAA tournament at our brand new Khan Outdoor Tennis facility was amazing... Playing in front of our Illini fans pulled us through our first round win against the tough No. 19 Vanderbilt team... Well I mean of course Tina had quite a large part in helping us get there too... She made a few very clutch volleys and overheads to win the third set in a tiebreak advancing us into the next round... For those of you who were there, could that have been any more nerve racking?? Losing a heartbreaker to Fresno State was disappointing, but definitely gave us motivation for a summer filled with stadiums, track workouts, lifts, and of course hitting...If you come to the next track meet you will probably see the women's tennis team entered in a race haha.

Now that we have all returned for summer session two, we have been hitting the workouts pretty hard... This past Monday a few of us decided we would try out one of the classes offered to students at the new ARC (Activities and Recreation Center)... The class is called Kick N' Core... Wow... Those are the only words that come to mind to describe what we had gotten ourselves into... It all began when our crazy, energetic, and intense instructor informed us that we would be doing a combination of dance, martial arts, and turbo kick... Amy, Annie, Mish, and I turned to each other and bursted out laughing... Not one of us has any type of rhythm mind you... As soon as we finally figured out one routine our instructor added more steps to confuse us even more... We could not keep up but it sure was hilarious! If you are ever bored and want a good laugh you should stop by the ARC and check us out on Monday evenings ha!

Unfortunately on top of all of our summer workouts we are all enrolled in summer classes... They are definitely not on the top of the list with things you want to do during summer... At least Chelcie, Megan, and I have each other to get us through our extremely long, very long two hour Nature and philosophy class!

Well, that is all for now... I will keep you posted throughout the summer!

Go Illini!
