Sophomore Rachael White.
April 27, 2011
Hi all! Rachael White here, aka Roach, Rachface or just face and I will also respond to hey you. I'll tell you a little about myself. I am a sophomore no longer from Deerfield, Ill. My parents just recently moved to Tampa, Fla., about a month ago. I am majoring in recreation, sport and tourism. I enjoy eating sweets, specifically funfetti cake, watching the movie Hocus Pocus and singing allowed with headphones in. I could go on and on about myself, but I guess since this is a team blog I should talk a little bit about my teammates.
When my teammates heard that I would be writing the blog this week, they got very excited because they thought it was going to be "interesting." Basically they thought it was not going to be very good, but I think they reely undrestimate mi righting skillz.
This past weekend we took two tough 4-3 losses to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Everyone showed a lot of heart and effort in the matches, but we just weren't on our `A' game those days. We started out our trip a little rough, discovering that Amy forgot her tennis shoes and I forgot half of our outfits. Luckily, we had enough outfits to find one that we could all wear, but when we showed up for our match, two of the girls ended up wearing the wrong skirt. We didn't quite have our heads screwed on straight this last weekend, but now we're ready for the Big Ten Tournament and that is all we have on our minds. It's a new weekend and we've got our focus back.
Some other good news is that Chelcie "Bat" Abajian is back out on the court practicing with us, and hopefully going to be ready to play this weekend. She has been working hard on rehabbing her ankle and she's looking strong. Also, Marisa "Mish" Lambropoulos is doing well. She had her final surgery and is in a small cast right now. Her scar is almost gone already. It is nice to see her back out on the court some.
School is coming to an end very quickly it seems, but our season is not yet over. We have our tennis banquet this coming Monday that is held for the men's and women's teams. At the banquet we have a lovely meal, the coaches talk a little bit and give out awards and the seniors give their final speeches. Thank you Illini fans for all of your support and we are very pumped for the rest of our season this year!
I feel I need to continue the tradition of ending with a rap so here it is:
Now that I've showed you my writing skillz,
It is time to go get some overhead killz.
We're headed to the Big Ten Tourney,
Where we are going to have a long journey.
Can't wait to get a chance at the `Cats again,
This time I am certain we will get the win.
