CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini swimmers won all but two events to triumph in their own Illinois Invitational Saturday afternoon at IMPE Pool.

Collecting 852 points, Illinois defeated Illinois State, who tallied 754 points, and the 365 points of the Champaign City AquaChiefs. Junior Darcy Adler helped lead the Illini with wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and in the 200 and 400 medley relays. Senior Traci Bollinger joined Adler in the two relay victories and added wins in the 100 freestyle and the 400 free relay.

"We have had a hard week of training, practicing before Friday's and Saturday's meets, so we are tired." Head Coach Jim Lutz said. "It's good that we are tired, and I was glad to see us swim some people in events they normally do not swim."

A pair of Orange and Blue freshmen stepped to forefront in Saturday's action. Jennifer Ochab, of Mundelein, Ill., took first in the 400 intermediate with a time of 4:41.26. Jessica Eaton placed first in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 59.63 and 2:11.35, respectively.
