Lauren Wismer was honored with Big Ten Diver of the Week for exceptional performances on the diving boards.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Freshman diver Lauren Wismer was named the Big Ten Diver of the Week after outstanding performances on the diving boards Saturday as the Illini defeated Nebraska, 165-135. This marked the first swimmer or diver of the week award for the Illini this season and was the team's first diver of the week award since Jessica Ohr was honored on Jan. 27, 1999.
In her collegiate debut, Wismer grabbed two first-place finishes in the one-meter and three-meter dives. Wismer shattered Illinois' record in the one-meter dive with the score of 290.47 and placed sixth on Illinois' all-time charts in the three-meter dive with a score of 282.38.
The Illini return to action on Friday, as they take on the Michigan State Spartans at McCaffree Pool in East Lansing, Mich. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m.
