    Women's Swimming Signs Turkish Olympian

    Dikmen will join squad in mid-season.

    Ilkay Dikmen, who is Turkey's national record holder in the 50, 100 and 200-meter breaststroke, has signed with the University of Illinois swimming and diving team. Dikmen will join the squad in January of 2001. She will not begin school in the fall because she is swimming for Turkey in the 2000 summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Dikmen has already recorded times lower than the NCAA qualifying standards.
