    Swimming And diving Team Earns Academic Honors

    CSCAA recognizes Illini for fall semester

    CHAMPAIGN, ILL. - The University of Illinois women's swimming and diving squad received an Academic-All America Team Award from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. The UI squad ranked third nationally with a team GPA of 3.464 on a 4.0 scale. To be eligible for the award, the entire team must have a cumulative GPA of 2.80 or greater on a 4.0 scale. The high academic accomplishments of the entire team earned them a superior rating. The highest GPA was a 3.52 accumulated by the team from Manhattan College. St. Peter's College edged the Illini with a 3.47. Purdue was fourth with a team GPA of 3.46.
