Fourteen Illini swimmers will compete in the final meet of the regular season.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Fourteen members of the Fighting Illini swimming and diving team will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., this weekend to take on competitors from No. 14 Indiana, No. 20 Purdue, Northwestern and Notre Dame at the NCAA Last Chance Meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.
"There are a lot of different things that we're looking for this weekend," head coach Sue Novitsky said. "The meet gives some people another opportunity to swim faster than they did at Big Tens. For the coaches, it's another opportunity for us to assess if we need to make adjustments in training for seasons to come, especially for freshmen who are going through their first season. It also gives some swimmers a chance to swim events that they might like to swim but weren't able to with the schedules of events throughout the season."
Juniors Rachel Japp Joyce and Michelle Mehnert, sophomores Sarah Coady, Kathleen Knight, Erin Lamb and Alyssa Petruzzello, redshirt freshman Erica Lynn and true freshmen Elizabeth Bell, Anne Goering, Courtney Pope, Marin Thompson, Alyssa Toland, Emily Wilkinson and Emma Williams will represent the Orange and Blue this weekend.
