CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Ten Illini swimmers and divers, including seniors Morgan Gilman, Courtney Spivak and Nikki Spillone, juniors Lauren Frendreis and Sara Stoneburg, sophomore Britni Fisher, and freshmen Paige Wachholz, Tessa Adams, Keri Eberhart, and Darragh McDermott, will be in action this weekend at the Minnesota Challenge hosted by the University of Minnesota, Feb. 5-6 in the final meet before the Big Ten Championships.
"I'm excited for the 10 athletes that are going," head coach Sue Novitsky said. "It's a good opportunity for them to have some good competition and get some racing in. They're resting for this meet, so I'm hoping to see lifetime-best times and for them to just put everything together after a good season of hard work."
The meet will be split into three sections, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. and will continue at noon the following day. The complete list of participating teams includes: Augsburg College, Carleton College, Gustavus, Morningside College, Minnesota State, Saint Cloud State, Saint Mary's, South Dakota State, St. Olaf, University of Minnesota-Morris, University of St. Thomas, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the University of Minnesota.
