CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
With its annual winter trip in the books, the Fighting Illini swimming and diving team will hit the road once again to take on Big Ten foe Iowa this Saturday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Field House Pool. The Illini are now 6-2 on the season after falling to
Miami (FL), 96-90 in last week's action.
After an intense training trip, the Orange and Blue are gearing up for the second half of the season and will look to avenge a 157-143 loss suffered last year to the Hawkeyes.
"We worked a lot more on developing speed and putting the races together during the trip," head coach Sue Novitsky said. "Hopefully, we'll see those things fall into place. They're a strong team and our dual meets against Iowa have always been pretty exciting and competitive and come down to each event. We're hoping to keep growing as a team and respond well in that type of situation."
