WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Seniors Keri Eberhardt and Darragh McDermott and sophomore Erika Murphy wrapped up the 2012-13 swimming and diving season for the Fighting Illini Friday afternoon at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, hosted by Purdue. The divers did not qualify for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Eberhardt earned a score of 196.35 in the three-meter dive and 202.50 in the one-meter, while McDermott posted a score of 206.55 in the three-meter and 231.60 in the one-meter. Murphy tallied a score of 210.50 in the one-meter dive in her first career Zone Diving Championships appearance.

"Our two seniors both seemed pretty focused on the three-meter," Illini diving coach Chris Waters said. "While each had a couple solid dives, they unfortunately missed their entries on a couple of others, so we ended up not placing as well as we would have liked. However, they had a good energy level and came back with a better list of dives on the one-meter. The two of them have made terrific progress in their diving over the past four years, so it was definitely nice to see each of them have a solid day in their final meet. Our sophomore Erika managed her nerves very well and made the corrections we'd been working on over the past couple weeks. She had a minor error here and there but competed strongly, and she should be very proud of her performance. I believe this meet will serve as a great learning tool for her."
