Columbus, Ohio--The Fighting Illini 200 free relay team consisting of Barbie Viney, Rebecca Poetz, Christina Brunka and anchor Meghan Farrell captured fourth place setting a new school record (1:31.50) and swimming in NCAA `B' cut time. The previous record was set last year at Big Ten Championships where the team placed fifth in the event.

In the 50 free championship heat juniors Meghan Farrell and Barbie Viney tied for fourth in a time of 22.98. Separated by five lanes the two teammates could only give each other sly grins and a hug after finding each other out of the pool. Both swimmers improved on their best time of the year.

The Illini are in sixth place with 105 points after day two.

The Illini return to action tomorrow with the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back preliminaries starting at 11am CT. Preliminaries for the 3-meter diving begin at 12pm CT.
