    Trisha Lakatos joins the coaching staff after an impressive four-year career as an Illini.

    In her senior year she placed eighth in the 200 breaststroke and 13th in the 100 breaststroke at the 2005 Big Ten Championships. Lakatos also held the fastest breaststroke times in the 50, 100 and 200 on the team. Her career at Illinois produced third fastest times in school history in each of the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke events. In addition to her swimming career she earned Academic All Big Ten honors her sophomore, junior and senior years. In 2001 she was the Canadian Junior National champion in the 100 breaststroke.

    Lakatos plans to graduate in May 2005 with a degree in kinesiology.

    2003-04 - Ranked in the top five for team times in four events ... Won the 200 breast against Illinois State and Toledo ... Finished second in both the 100 and 200 breast against Iowa State and Southern Illinois ... Placed third in the 200 breast against Ohio State and Iowa ... Took sixth in the 200 breast and seventh in the 100 breast at the Big Ten Quad meet ... Participated in the 100, 200 and 200 IM at the Indiana Invitational and Big Ten Championships ... Earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.

    2002-03 - Competed in the 100 and 200 breast at the Big Ten Championships ... Finished tenth in both the 100 and 200 breast at Big Tens ... Earned top 5 times in the 100 and 200 breast ... Earned two "B" standard qualifying times in the 100 and 200 breast ... Finished second at Indiana in the 100 and 200 breast ... Placed first in the 100 breast at Oakland ... Took third place in the 100 and 200 in the dual meet against Notre Dame and Michigan ... Was second in both the 100 and 200 breast in a dual against Ohio State and Iowa ... Placed second in the 400 IM at the Daktronics Invitational ... Earned Academic All-Big Ten Honors and received a George Huff Academic Award.

    2001-02 - Placed 14th in the 200 breast and 16th in the 100 breaststroke at the Big Ten Championships ... Was the only Illini freshman to score at the Big Ten meet ... Posted the team's second-best time in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke ... Also ranked among team leaders in the 200 and 400 IM ... Was third in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at the Terrapin Cup Invitational ... Was second in the 200 breast and third in the 400 IM at the Irvine Invitatonal in early January ... Won both the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke at Illinois State.

    High School - Canadian Junior National champion in the 100 breast in 2001 and a Senior National finalist ... Holds club record in 50 breast (33.5 short course meters/33.9 long course meters) ... Team MVP in 1998, '99 and '00 ... Represented Quebec at the Canadian Games this summer, taking fourth in the 100 breast, sixth in the 200 breast and third in the 4x100 medley relay.
