Urbana, Ill. – The University of Illinois softball team will host its annual alumni game this Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9 a.m. at Eichelberger field. The game will showcase a number of players from Illinois’ 12 years as a program, who will make the trip down memory lane joined by friends, family and the Illini nation. The game is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and will be concluded before the Illini football team takes on Penn State at 11 a.m. just down the road.
The Illini are off to a strong start this fall, highlighted by dominant pitching from the Illini’s veteran staff. The Orange and Blue have allowed just three runs in three games, including a combined no-hitter last Sunday against Valparaiso. Following Saturday’s alumni game, Illinois will conclude the fall season on Oct. 6 with a double header against Wright State.
