    Three More Student-Athletes Join Illini Squad for Upcoming Season

    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois softball team and head coach Terri Sullivan announced the addition of three student-athletes for the 2012-13 season on Wednesday. Rising-junior transfer Sami Estill and incoming-freshmen Allie Bauch and Dana Sullivan join the Orange and Blue for the upcoming campaign to add depth to an already talent-laden roster.

    Allie Bauch
    Position: IF

    Notes: A three-sport student-athlete who combined for 10 varsity letters and four Captain Stars during participation in basketball, softball and volleyball at Conant High School ... Three-time Daily Herald All-Area and All-Conference (2010-12) ... Helped lead high school team to back-to-back conference championships, with a 17-0 Mid-Suburban League record and an Illinois 4A State Sweet Sixteen finish in 2012 ... Batted .393 with 11 doubles and 44 runs as a senior ... Twice voted to Conant's Best Defensive Player Award honors (2010-11) ... Played travel ball with the Schaumburg Sluggers, placing second at the 2010 NSA 'A' Nationals ... Selected as one of Conant's High School top-10 outstanding seniors and was a Female Athlete of the Year Award nominee ... Academic all-state nominee in 2012 and a four-year honor roll student ... Was also a two-time first team all-region and two-time all-conference selection in two years with the Lincoln Land program ... Batted .475 with a .558 on-base mark and a .636 slugging percentage as a freshman at Lincoln Land, tallying 27 stolen bases, 27 RBIs, 77 hits and 60 runs scored ... Followed with a .448 clip as a sophomore, reaching base in 52.9 percent of her plate appearances while slugging .570, stealing 29 bags, knocking in 23 runs, scoring 54 more and collecting 77 hits ... Equaled her athletic success in the classroom, tallying a plethora of honors that included being named an Illinois State Scholar while receiving the Helen St. John Award for English, Exceptional Eagle Award for Mathematics and Fern Award for Math ... Also totaled the highest GPA Award for basketball and softball, and was given the American Legion Award.
