Shanna Diller has 78 RBI in two years for the Illini

Urbana, Ill. - Illinois third baseman Shanna Diller has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Second Team Academic All-District 5. The team is voted on by district members of the College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA).
In order to qualify to even be nominated, athletes must have been regulars on the team with at least a 3.20 grade-point average. Diller ranked third in the Big Ten in runs scored (40) and fourth in the league in RBI (39) while batting .310. Diller, who posted an eight-game hitting streak earlier in the year, hit a grand slam to highlight an 8-3 victory over Long Island on March 18. She is a graduate of Normal Community High School.
