Illinois-Southern Illinois game postponed

April 26, 2005

Urbana, Ill. - Weather continues to play havoc with the Illinois softball schedule. The Illini, who have won two games in a row, but have only played one game since April 17, were scheduled to play a doubleheader at No. 22 Southern Illinois on Tuesday night in Carbondale. Rain in the forecast, however, has forced the postponement of the contest. No make-up date has yet been determined.

The second game of the doubleheader at Bradley on April 21 was cancelled due to rain and Sunday's twinbill at Michigan State was called off due to snow in East Lansing, Mich. In all Illinois has lost 11 games due to weather during this season. Illinois hosts Minnesota on Friday night at 6 p.m. in the first of four straight games at Eichelberger Field to end the 2005 home schedule.
