    Sacramento, Calif. - The Illini used some key two out hitting to get past Sacramento State the host school of the Capital Classic. The Illini got two big home runs from Jenna Hall and Erin Montgomery to secure the third victory of the tournament.

    "Jenna Hall came up with some big hits for us today," assistant coach Dibiase said. "We always talk about having that ignitor that gets us going and Jenna Hall was our ignitor today."

    Hall ended up going 2-3 on the day including a key lead off home run in the fifth which tied the game and the Illini never looked back. Two batters later, Montgomery slapped a solo home run to left to give the Illini the lead for good. Hall would drill a two out single to right to drive in the third run for the Illini and gave Hall her second RBI on the day.

    Amanda Fortune had a nice steady day on the mound as she threw a complete game for the Illini. Fortune only gave up 1 hit after the second inning and allowed only 3 hits on the day giving up 1 run.

    Rachelle Coriddi played second base for the Illini today as she filled in for Katie O'Connell who couldn't play due to a sore back.

    The Illini will rap up the Capital Classic tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. CST against No. 8 California. California is unbeaten in the Capital Classic.
