2002 Highlights: Late addition to the roster; joined the team in January ? Moved into the team?s No. 2 starter role after injury to Amanda Fortune ? Pitched six innings in relief, allowing just three hits in 9-4, 8-inning win over Indiana. ? Averaged just 1.6 walks per seven innings of work ? Tossed a two-hit shutout in first outing and didn?t allow an earned run in her first 19 innings of her collegiate career ? Combined with Lindsey Tanner on a five-inning no-hitter vs. Indiana State ? Earned the Illinois Scholar-Athlete Award at the post-season banquet.

Prep Highlights: Member of the 2001 Class AA Illinois State Championship Softball team ? Part of pitching staff who set three Illinois state records for most strikeouts (591), most consecutive shutouts (14) and total number of shutouts (35) ? Named to the second team All-State as a senior ? Three-time first team All-Big 12 Conference and Big 12 scholar-athlete selection ? Two-time WHOI Athlete of the Week ? Earned five varstiy letters at Normal Community, three in softball and two in tennis ? Named MVP at Beechwood High School as a freshman ? Won two varsity letters at Beechwood in softball and basketball.
