PARK RIDGE, Ill. - After a stellar weekend during which she recorded four goals and one assist in two games, the Big Ten Conference again recognized Vanessa DiBernardo for her outstanding play. DiBernardo earned both Freshman of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week on the same day for the second time this season, having previously received both honors on Sept. 13.

Over the weekend, DiBernardo notched four goals against Purdue during a 4-1 victory on Friday evening before tallying an assist on classmate Megan Pawloski's first goal against Indiana on Sunday. The Naperville, Ill., native's performance on Friday broke the individual record for most goals in a contest in Illinois history and her three second-half tallies tied the record for most in a single half. DiBernardo's performance also ties her for the 2010 season single-game goals mark among all Division-I women's soccer players and places her second on the 2010 season single-game points list.

In addition to the Freshman and Offensive Player of the Week awards earned on Sept. 13 and Oct. 4, DiBernardo earned Freshman of the Week on Aug. 30. Seniors Danielle Kot and Krystin Miller have also earned recognition through the Big Ten Conference, taking home Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 23 and Sept. 20, respectively.

DiBernardo also received acknowledgment through Top Drawer Soccer, becoming the second Illini to be named to the Team of the Week. Miller was previously named as a Team of the Week member on Sept. 20.

Through 11 games, DiBernardo leads the Illini in points (20), goals (9), shots (41) and shots on goal (19). Among all Big Ten women's soccer athletes, DiBernardo ranks first in points, points per game (1.82), goals and goals per game (0.82).
