CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Former Illinois defender Mary Therese McDonnell has joined Ireland's National Team, earning her first two international caps in action against the United States over the past week. McDonnell and the Irish team will complete the three-game series against the U.S. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.

McDonnell, who earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2007, made her first appearance in the Irish's 2-0 loss to the U.S. at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa., last Saturday. The Orland Park, Ill., native started the second match of the series on Wednesday against the recently-crowned Olympic champions, as the Irish fell, 1-0, after the U.S. notched the game-winner in the 72nd minute at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Kickoff for the final matchup between the Irish and U.S. is slated for 7 p.m. (CT) and will be streamed live on ussoccer.com via MatchAccess.
