CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini are back in action at home with three Big Ten opponents in the upcoming weeks. Throughout September, Illinois welcomes Iowa, Ohio State and Penn State to Champaign and each contest is highlighted by a special promotion.
The Illini host Iowa on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. CT for the Big Ten opener. Immediately following the end of the match there will be a free one hour clinic for kids in eighth grade or younger with the Illinois players. To register, contact Stacy Dally at firstname.lastname@example.org or 217-333-8782.
On Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. CT, Ohio State visits Illinois Soccer Stadium to take on the Orange and Blue. The evening will feature Girl Scout Night and "Local.Sustainable.Illinois." For those participating in Girl Scout night, the Fighting Illini will be offering the main Girl Scout patch along with the soccer patch. The main patch costs $1.00 and the soccer patch costs $1.50. Once again, to register for this event, contact Stacy Dally.
In addition, "Local.Sustainable.Illinois." enables college soccer players, coaches and supporters to address water, food, health, housing and education needs in the communities across the USA. Throughout the stadium there will be informational tables occupied by on-campus organizations, local non-profits, and local sustainable businesses, all which address the five rights the organization stands for.
The last home game of September takes place on the 23rd at 12 p.m. CT with the Illini taking on the Nittany Lions of Penn State at the annual Illinois Soccer Fest. The event includes free food for the first 1,000 fans, inflatables and a face painting station. Come cheer on your Fighting Illini to victory!
