Santacaterina Rakes In Top Drawer Soccer Weekly Honor

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Junior midfielder Jackie Santacaterina was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after her outstanding performance over the weekend at the First Tennessee Lady Vol Classic. It marked the first weekly honor of Santacaterina's career and third time this year an Illini has received Team of the Week honors.
Santacaterina was a force in the midfield for the Illini, dominating in the air against Washington State and Tennessee. The Geneva, Ill., native totaled 162 minutes on the weekend with two shots, including one on frame against the Cougars.
Santacaterina and Illinois hit the road again this weekend, taking on the No. 23 Florida Gators on Friday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. (CT). The Illini wrap up the trip on Sunday, Sept. 14 with an 11 a.m. (CT) match at the University of Central Florida.
