Illinois assistant coach Eric Bell will leave the Illini after taking a position at Florida State.

Illinois women's soccer head coach Janet Rayfield announced today that one of her assistants, Eric Bell, will be leaving the program for a position at Florida State. Bell will be an assistant to FSU coach Mark Krikorian.
"Eric has been a tremendous asset to me and to this program," Rayfield said. "We took a chance on each other four years ago and it has paid a huge dividend for both of us and for the Illinois program. His intensity and demand for excellence will continue to be a part of this program."
Bell served as the recruiting coordinator for the Fighting Illini and prepared scouting reports on Illinois opponents. He put together a 2005 recruiting class, Illinois' current freshmen, that was ranked 23rd in the nation, and the incoming class of 2006 is expected to be in the top 25 as well.
Bell has also spent time as an assistant coach at Minnesota in 2001 and at Ashland University from 1997-2000. He graduated from the College of Wooster in 1992 after leading the soccer team to consecutive NCAA Division III tournament berths in 1989-1990 and a North Coast Atlantic Conference title in 1989.
