    2004 will be Ward's second season as team manager after spending two years as a player for the Orange and Blue. She started 15 games in the defensive backfield for the Illini in 2001. She suffered a kneee injury and missed most of 2002 before being forced to retire from competitive play in 2003 due to the injury.

    Ward attended Centerville High School in Clifton, Va. where she was two-time All-District Conference Team selection and was the 1999 team MVP. She played club soccer for Chantilly Hurricanes.

    She is majoring in kinesiology at Illinois.
