Coach Rayfield on Garrett: "`G' stepped in and started every match in 2008 at outside back, and that experience will pay off in 2009. She continues to prove her defensive ability to read the game and build on her ability to be a dangerous attacking threat coming out of the back. Her shot and service into the box make her an attacking threat, yet her tenacity in a 1v1 battle make her tough to beat on the flank as well. She is a complete player who can handle the ball and be dangerous, as well as disrupt an opponent's attack and protect our goal."
