    Figueroa enters his second season with the Illini in 2005. A native of Chicago, Ill., Figueroa is a 2002 graduate of Bartlett High School. He led his soccer team to a 20-3-1 record his senior year and was named Upstate Eight Conference Honorable Mention and earned a spot on the Arlington Heights Daily Herald All-Area team.

    "Alex is one of those people who can make every day better for everyone around him," Illinois coach Janet Rayfield said. "His dedication to this team and program is significant, but his contribution as a person is invaluable."

    He is currently a senior at Illinois majoring in molecular and cellular biology.
