Getting to Know Lindsay: Nickname: Lin Favorite Athlete: Brianna Scurry Favorite TV Show: Friends Favorite Book: The Lovely Bones Superstitions: pasta the night before a game, warm-up exactly the same Biggest Sports Thrill: U-14 National Kellogg's Cup runner-up - was instrumental in a shootout to earn the wildcard to make it Favorite thing about Coach Rayfield: her incredible knowledge of the game and her understanding of what it takes to be a champion I chose Illinois because: of the wonderful coaching staff, the team and the gorgeous campus.
Coach Rayfield on Carstens: "With Rachel Frank injured, Lindsay Carstens was given a chance this spring to see where she stood as a college goalkeeper and she answered that challenge very well. She showed her ability to shot stops extremely well, to read the game and stay connected defensively, and use her feet to help us posses the ball in the back. She has made tremendous strides with her ability in the air and her ability to dominate in the box. If she brings the confidence she had in the spring, Lindsay will make the battle for the starting goalkeeper a great one."
