Hi Illini Fans!

I am pleased to announce that our entire team has recently finished our finals for first semester. All of us are extremely excited about that! With the stress of school and finals off our shoulders, we are now able to focus more on gym and the season ahead. We were all able to practice together one last time, this past Saturday, before we all left to go home for break. This was very nice since the entire week we all practiced on different days due to our different finals schedules.

After our final practice on Saturday, everyone was excited to go home to relax and celebrate the holidays with their families. Some of the girls that live on the east coast had some flight cancellations due to bad weather. Kelsey's flight was canceled until the next day so we went out to dinner and watched the movie, Four Christmases. We tried to make the best out of the situation. The good news was that everyone was able to get home by Sunday.

Within a week, we will all be back in Champaign and will be ready to get back into the gymnastics mode. Practices will be held during the late morning which means that we will be done with practice in the early afternoon. For the past couple of years, each apartment has used this free time in the afternoon to start watching a TV show that they have never seen before. This year I plan to start watching The Office at the Junior's apartment. I'm sad to say that my apartment (the Senior's) has not decided which TV show to watch. It is a toss-up between Dawson's Creek and The OC.

Another event that we all look forward to when arriving back at school is dinner at Bob's house. Bob and his family provide us with a delicious home-cooked meal and at this time we also trade secret Santa gifts. This year however, our team has decided not to do secret Santa. Instead, we have donated all the money that we normally spend on each other to charity. We all felt compelled to help out those less fortunate than us this holiday season.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful and happy holiday! Enjoy the company of your families and the cheerful spirit of the season!

Thanks for reading and GO ILLINI!

-Laura-
