Get behind the scenes of Illinois Gymnastics with Illini Ink - the weekly women's gymnastics journal. In this year's seventh edition, freshman Elizabeth McNabb makes her Illini Ink debut and discusses the team's Fall Break from pracitce.
Hey Illini Fans!
Being a freshman this year, I am excited to write my first journal entry as an Illini! Yay!
Everyone had a fun yet relaxing weekend with it being our Fall Break and all. A couple of girls traveled to see their families and friends. With practices picking up and midterms almost over, it was nice to have a weekend to relax and get some studying done. Although we all enjoyed our Fall Break, it was time to get back into the swing of things. We have our intrasquad coming up here in a few weeks so all of us girls are beginning to put routines together. The energy in the gym is amazing! We are especially excited about our new coach, Jay Santos. He brings a new coaching style to the gym, which we all enjoy. As our routines come together we are coming closer and closer to an exciting season!
This weekend the Fighting Illini are playing against Purdue University. It should be a great game considering the two teams are ranked back to back in the Big Ten. We are all looking forward to cheering on our Fighting Illini!
Thanks for reading and tune in for next week for another Illini ink!
