Hey Illini Fans!!
Well everyone, it's October and pre-season is well underway. All of us are putting our routines together for the upcoming season, and the team is looking great! The freshmen have been a great addition to the team this year. They've been here on campus only about two months and it already seems like they've been here forever. They're getting their new routines put together now, and I'm so excited to see what they look like. I can't believe it's already my senior year, it seems like yesterday that I was in their position, getting used to how different and busy college life can be.
October is always an exceptionally crazy month; not just in the gym, but outside too. We just passed the halfway mark of the fall semester and with that come's colder weather, more intense practices, and busy exam weeks for everyone. I know that we are all looking forward to our fall break this weekend. Every fall semester, at the end of October, we get a weekend break from practice so we can catch up on schoolwork and rest, and come back rejuvenated and ready to go! When we get back from fall break is when we really push it into high gear to prepare for this upcoming season. We look so strong already, and I can tell this season is going to be the best yet! We have our first intra-squad next month, and before we know it we'll be competing at Huff Hall and we will DOMINATE in 2009!
In other Illini sports news, our Men's Golf team is ranked number 1 in the country! It's always exciting when the our other teams are doing so well, and we have so much fun going to soccer, football, volleyball, and all the other teams' events. Just this past weekend, we all went to the big rival football game against Indiana here at Memorial Stadium. It was a great weekend for Juice Williams and the rest of the team. It was a night game, which is always a fun atmosphere, and we won 55-13!! We plan to keep on making the Illini proud this coming season, so stay tuned for more news.
