Get behind the scenes of Illinois Gymnastics with Illini Ink - the weekly women's gymnastics journal. In this year's 26th edition, senior Laura Woolf talks about the great weather in Champaign, the upcoming regional and last week's Big Ten Championships.
Hi Illini Fans!
The weather here in Champaign, Illinois has really been spectacular! With increased temperatures, a nice break from school, and a good solid week and a half of practice, we are looking forward to the upcoming 2010 Regional Championships! This year we are placed at the University of Kentucky. All of the girls are very excited to compete at Kentucky because we had the opportunity to compete there last year, and it is also pretty close to school. We will be competing in the order of: vault, bars, beam, and floor. We are all excited about the order that we were given as well.
Last week at Big Tens, we did not perform as well as we wanted to. We had a couple mistakes that added up quickly. However, all the girls and I are taking away the great performances as well as learning from the little mistakes so that we will be able to correct these for Regional's.
On behalf of myself and the rest of the girls, we would like to thank the parents for being extremely supportive not just at the Big Ten competition, but at every single meet this year. Our success has a lot to do with you guys! Thanks for everything you have done and I hope to see some orange and blue overalls in Kentucky!!
Enjoy the nice weather and thanks for reading!
