    Hey there Illini Fans!

Wow, I can't believe it is almost March already! This season is just flying by. This past Sunday we had a meet against Michigan State along with the University of Iowa since our NIU meet was cancelled. It was nice to be able to have another meet especially on the day we were supposed to compete to stay on top of our schedule.

The practice before we left for the University of Iowa we had a team activity where the whole team had to get across the floor using only three towels in less than five minutes, which we did successfully. After that, the team had to agree on six words that would help us with our goals this season. We put them in order from most important to least important and made it into a ladder. The ladder is hung up in our locker room now to motivate us at practice.

This past weekend we got to compete in Olympic order since it was a tri-meet so the team was pretty pumped up about that. We were lucky to start off on beam, which is probably one of our strongest events. We struggled a little on this event but all in all it went pretty well and the team was so full of confidence. After beam we headed to floor where we all had pretty solid routines. There are still little mistakes we need to work on but all around it went well. Heading to vault we knew we had to be pretty solid. All of our vaults hit along with some pretty nice sticks. Lastly, we went to bars. We all had so much energy on this event. The bar team performed well and had some pretty exciting performances. We had our second highest bar score of the season and had some great landings. Allison posted her best all around score at this meet, which was pretty impressive.

This week we only have two practices since we head to Auburn early Thursday morning to take on the Tigers Friday, February 29th. With only two practices, we need to make each day as efficient as possible. We are very excited and ready to fulfill the goals we have made this week at practice. We have been working very hard and we are ready for the rest of this season!

    Thanks for reading! Go ILLINI!
