Freshman Amber See was named Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week on Monday.

PARK RIDGE, Ill. - University of Illinois freshman Amber See earned Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week honors along with Ohio State's Sarah Miller, announced the conference office Monday. See picked up her second career event title after winning the vault crown with a career-high mark of 9.875 against Illinois-Chicago on Saturday. She was one of four different Illini to win an event title, as the Orange and Blue won their fourth meet in a row with a season-high score of 195.975.
The Minnetonka, Minn., native followed her victory up with a second-place showing on floor exercise with a personal-best score of 9.900. The accolade marks the first weekly honor for See and the first time an Illinois gymnast has captured the award.
Up Next: Illinois hits the road again, as it heads to East Lansing, Mich., for a Big Ten showdown with Michigan State on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The meet will be aired live on the Big Ten Network.
